Pieni Suomi-loma

I spent a pretty emotional weekend in Finland attending a funeral and celebrating Mother's Day. A lot of grief, but also joy and happiness.

You could say it's summer here in England now, but only early spring in Finland. Fortunately the weather was beautiful and I got to enjoy the summer cabin atmosphere with sauna and "swimming" (taking a really, really quick dip) in the river. So lovely.

So what did I bring home to my loved ones? Rye bread from a local shop, Moomin characters from the airport and nettles, that we picked this morning with my sister. We will be having nettle pancakes tomorrow, yum!
