On osoittautunut mahdottomaksi tehtäväksi löytää kaupasta n. 3-vuotiaalle lapselle pitkälahkeisia vilpoisia kesähousuja arkikäyttöön. Ompelemaan siis. Oman housupinon pohjimmaisina olivat häätöuhan alla olevat kierrätyskeskuksesta muutama vuosi sitten ostetut persikanväriset ysärihousut, joita en enää käyttänyt. Leikkasin yläosan itselleni shortseiksi ja lahkeista ompelin pöksyt lapselle. Tykkään shortseista tosi paljon ja lapsen housut ovat juuri sopivat ja kivan simppelit.
Mikä on päivän väri? Tämänviikkoisessa luomulaatikossa oli reilu nippu tuoreita porkkanoita varsineen. Varret kannattaa kuulemma pestä, kuivata ja silputa mausteeksi muiden yrttien sekaan. Täytyypä kokeilla!

I have found it almost impossible to find long summer pants for a two or three-year-old. It's all leggings and jeans. A sewing project it shall be then, I decided. I found my old 90s trousers that I bought from a flea market a few years ago and didn't use anymore. I cut the legs off and got a pair of nice shorts for myself. I really, really like them! From the trouser legs I then sewed pants for our daughter. I think they're just fine too, very simple. Of course they look much nicer on her than in this picture.
Colour of the day? Got nice fresh carrots from Abel & Cole this morning. You can use the leafy tops as well in your cooking. Wash, dry and finely chop. Use sparingly in dishes alongside lots of fresh herbs. Must try!
