No, lapsi teki omat ihanat askartelunsa siinä sivussa oman mielensä mukaan.

Levitin kankaanpainovärin pihlajanlehdelle siveltimellä ja painoin kuvion kankaalle. Peitin lehden paperinpalalla ja avitin painamista hieman telaamalla paperin päältä. Sitten annoin kankaan kuivua ja silitin kuviot pesunkestäviksi. Kankaina oli kahta eripaksuista valkaisematonta puuvillakangasta, joita löysin varastosta. Olen käyttänyt kankaita aikoinaan maalauspohjiin.

Lopuksi ompelin päälliset. Taakse jäi tyynyliinamainen aukko, ilman mitään kiinnitysmekanismia. Ihan napakasti pysyvät paikoillaan.

A quick summer diy. We used rowan leaves with black fabric paint and unbleached cotton. I applied the paint on the leaves with a small paintbrush and pressed the leaves on the fabric helping a bit with a small brayer. After the printing process the paint must be left to dry completely, and the prints ironed to make them waterproof.

I then sewed the covers as so called envelope covers - easy and quick, no fasteners like zippers or buttons needed there.

  7. Hi! I really like what you've done here. Sadly I've found it through a Spanish blog that I don't think has credited you properly. Certainly replies to the comments don't make it clear that this is not the work of the blogger. I find these things very unfair, that's why I wanted to tell you. Congrats on YOUR good work

    1. Thank you, FOX :) You could use acrylic paint, but it might not be as durable, if washed.

  13. Thank you, Timia Lewis and pennedbyjenn.com!
There wasn't much left from the original fabric after I made the pillow covers. Or do you mean am I going to use the print?

  18. Hi.
Love the idea but I don't understand a word :) and the google translator doesn't help...
What kind of paint and fabric did you used?
    Thanks.

  19. Hi Axun, Thanks for the comment. If you looked closer and scrolled down you would have noticed that I always write a summary in English as well.

I used Deka Permanent Deck fabric paint, but I'm sure any similar paint will do. You need to iron the pattern to make it water proof after it's dried completely.

I hope this helped, have a nice day!

  23. Beautiful print. Did you use a real plant or a fake one?

  24. Thank you so much, Kyla! Definitely a real plant, it's a rowan tree leaf, very common here in Finland :)

  25. Moi.
