DIY eläinaiheiset puukoristeet / DIY Woodland Animal Ornaments

Ottivat yhteyttä ranskalaisesta Doolittle Magazine -lehdestä, ja pyysivät ideoimaan joulukuun numeroonsa askarteluohjeen. Tällaista jälkeä tuli, ja tietysti jaan ohjeet koristeisiin myös täällä omassa blogissa - olkaa hyvät!

Puukoristeet mustesuihkutulostimella

Tarvikkeet:

mustesuihkutulostin
piirtoheitinkalvoa (ei mustesuihkutulostimelle tarkoitettua)
puisia koristepohjia
ripustusnauhaa ja puuhelmiä
tulostettavia kuvia - tiedostot löytyvät täältä!

1. Valitse haluamasi kuva ja tulosta se mustesuihkutulostimella piirtoheitinkalvolle, sopivassa koossa verrattuna koristepohjiin. Jos käytät kirjaimia tai numeroita, muista tulostaa ne peilikuvana.
2. Aseta kalvo varovasti puupinnalle kuvapuoli alaspäin. Pidä kalvo tiukasti paikoillaan ja hankaa kuva kiinni koristeeseen esimerkiksi taittoluun, kolikon tai pankkikortin reunan avulla.
3. Pyyhi kalvo puhtaaksi ja tulosta seuraava kuva.
4. Anna printtien kuivua. Voit halutessasi tehdä niistä kestävämpiä suihkuttamalla niihin ohuen kerroksen spray-lakkaa.

I was contacted from the lovely French Doolittle Magazine, and asked to make a Christmas craft for them. I had something in mind already, and here are the results. Here's the tutorial in English - I hope you like it!

Inkjet Transfer Christmas Ornaments

Materials:

plain wooden ornaments
inkjet printer
transparent film (not made for inkjet printing)
woodland themed illustrations (available here!)
string or ribbon, wooden beads (optional)

1. Adjust your image sizes to fit your ornaments. Remember to use mirror images if you print out any letters or numbers.
2. Print out one image at a time on a transparent sheet of film.
3. Carefully place the film on an ornament and keep it steady. Make sure you have the ink side towards the wooden surface.
4. Use a blunt pencil, a coin or a credit card, for example, to rub the ink onto the ornament.
5. With a damp cloth remove whats left of the ink on the film, and you're able to use the same sheet of film again and again.
6. Let the transferred images dry and coat with a thin layer of spray varnish.

Thank you so much for providing images and tutorial in English. The images are so delightful, can hardly wait to make these. Love how you used string with bead to hang ornaments, they're wonderful. Love simplicity.
Hope I can find wood pieces like yours for the ornaments. Thank you very much

Hi! We are hoping to make these and love what you have here! Curiously, when you say transparency film for NON-ink jet printer do you mean for laser printer or something else?
Thank you for providing instructions in English and for sharing your creativity with us!

Hi there!

It's important, that the ink of the inkjet printer will not stick to the film, but stay on the surface instead. The film I've used is for the traditional projector use, so the old-fashioned stuff.

I hope this helps, good luck with your project, I hope your ornaments turn out fabulous!
